Every Shubin Farms product is designed, engineered, and cut by hand on our family farm in Wildomar, California. Here's how one of our boxes goes from an idea to your doorstep.
Designed by a mechanical engineer
Shubin Farms is run by John Shubin, a mechanical engineer with more than 20 years of hands-on poultry and pigeon breeding experience. Every product is modeled in SolidWorks CAD, so each box is engineered for the birds that will actually use it — correct cavity sizes, proper ventilation, and a structure built to last season after season.
Cut on our own CNC
Our designs are programmed in Mastercam and cut on our own 3-axis CNC router with a 48" x 96" bed. That means clean, repeatable precision on every single unit — no warped panels, no sloppy joints — whether we're making one box or a thousand. We work primarily in quality plywood, and also cut acrylic and aluminum plate (up to 3/8") for custom projects.
Flat-pack, and finished by hand
Most of our products ship flat-pack with all hardware and illustrated instructions, so they arrive safely, keep freight costs down, and assemble with just a screwdriver — usually in under an hour. Every kit is inspected and finished by hand before it leaves the farm.
Made in the USA
From the first CAD sketch to the final sanding, everything is designed and manufactured right here in Southern California.
Custom & engineering work
Beyond our catalog, we take on custom CNC cutting, private-label production runs, and engineering consultation. If you have a design in mind — a custom loft, a decorative panel, or a prototype — we'd love to hear about it.
